busy, busy, busy past few days!

We have had a very busy last few days, even busier than we normally are. Situ, also known as tutu came for a visit. Situ came on Wednesday and left this afternoon. The girls always love when situ comes from Georgia to visit. The visits are never long enough for Lexi. The girls sure do know how to wear Situ out.

On Thursday, Carli had a play date with Albee. Albee is just a couple of weeks younger than her and they had a blast. They played in the playroom, had a snack or two and topped the afternoon off with some bike riding.

On Friday, we celebrated Situ's 60th birthday at Auntie Tamara and Uncle D's house.

Today we went to visit Pa. Pa loves when we bring the kids over there and the kids love Pa's big "backyard". Today they went on pine comb hunts and even found some tiny baby ones.

another day ...

Well thank goodness Gavin is feeling better today. Poor guy has an ear infection and had a 103 plus fever yesterday. Today he was back into the swing of things. He even went to his little gym class. I was somewhat able to get a picture of him standing unassisted getting ready to take a step or two. Not such a great picture as it was taken with the phone camera. Tonight was Alexi's Kindergarten orientation. What an amazing school she goes to. I am so fortunate and thankful that we are able to afford her this amazing educational experience. In art she will learn about dimension, shape, volume, size, etc.. etc.., learn about various artists all in kindergarten. I was totally amazed at the previous kindergarten students art work. In music, she will learn to read notes in kindergarten and by first grade will be learning the violin and various other instruments. Truly AMAZING!!! This goes without mentioning the lessons in living program, about loving yourself, being kind, just being a good person all around.

A little thought for today ...

Mothers teach daughters to shine brightly. Daughters remind mothers to not be afraid of making mistakes.

We almost have a walker!

Today Gavin took 3-4 steps at a time unassisted. He did this about 3 times today. Of course every time mommy tried to get a picture of it, he would get down quickly to crawl after and grab my camera. I must have tried 15 times and of course he thought it was hysterical. Through my efforts, I did get a couple of random pictures, even one of Jessie the bulldog looking and cheering him on.

some more cousin time ...

Some more gorgeous weather today, so of course we took advantage of it! We took a nice long walk/bike ride this morning, Gavin got his run in with mommy followed my more outside time with bikes, cars and bug finding. In the afternoon we got to get in some cousin time. The girls were lucky this weekend, as they got a lot of cousin time, on both sides of the family. The girls were barely back from auntie Laurie's house, wait I should say, we were NOT even back home yet and they were requesting another sleepover with Ella. Hmmm, maybe mommy and poppa should actually plan a night out now! Anyhow, I did get a couple of snapshots today, not many and no real good ones, but a few at any rate.

The girls first real sleepover!

So the girls went off to Auntie Laurie's for a sleepover. Well the intention was for Lexi to have the sleepover. Carli was very upset to find out she was not going! Lexi was so excited all day, came home from school packed her bag, but when the time came she had some second thoughts. She really did want to go, but was nervous. Well out of it all, Carli got to go. She could not have been more excited, she said she was going to stay for 3 days and off she went! Auntie Laurie has already reported that they had a great time tonight and all are passed out. Let's hope it lasts throughout the entire night! I was sent a picture through phone text, so not the best quality, but you get the idea!

Now who isn't a fan of Elmo, not Gavin!

A typical Tuesday ...

Today we were busy as usual. Lexi was in school all day, Carli half a day, Gavin had Kindermusik class and Lexi had tennis lessons. As busy as the day was, we followed it up with some playground time. Don't the kids ever get tired? Mommy sure does! This was Gavin's second week of class (oops mommy forgot the camera the first week), and he loves it. He loves to get out of the house, but HATES car rides! Carli got to have a picnic lunch and some park time with Mimi while Gavin was in music class. Alexi has been in tennis lessons with coach Don for 1.5 years now, she is doing really well. We are so proud of her!

Beautiful Saturday afternoon at the zoo!

We sure are taking advantage of all this beautiful weather. All the kids love being outside and they all love the zoo. Today we walked the zoo, had lunch and ice cream, sat in a bald eagle nest and even had the opportunity to see the baby wallaby in the mommy's pouch. What a beautiful morning, this is what FAMILY is all about!
