Friday 3rd June 2011
Dear Parents,
Wow we made it !!! I can't believe the school year has come to an end. We have accomplished so much. The children seemed so young when they entered Orientation in August, many had fears, there were tears and their confidence level was low. Now at the end of the year they come skipping into the classroom and are eager to start their day.
We've learned lots of new and exciting things during Circle time. The children can now readily identify the Monarch butterfly and tell you about it going through its metamorphosis. They know the tale of the Pilgrims and how they survived their long crossing on the Mayflower. They loved making their snowmen even if they were not from real snow and we talked about Hibernation. They planted flowers and carefully watered them daily with the water from our rain barrel. They gave out their Valentines with love, hunted for eggs and made a long paper chain from the "Kindness" strips.
Overall they read a total of 290 books to make the longest "Reading caterpillars" ever and I'm sure we read as many during our days with your children.
Thank you again to our wonderful Room Mothers, Dawn and Kelly for organizing the parties and activities and to Melisa for taking such wonderful photos through out the year.
Most of all, a BIG thank to ALL of you for trusting us with your children and sharing them with us.
Now we have to say Goodbye our job is done for this year. We hope you will stop by and say "Hi' on your way to the preschool rooms, our doors are always open,
We hope you all have a wonderful summer and return fresh and ready for another year,
With love and hugs,
Miss Kathy, Miss Kathryn and Miss Sarah.
